Is my spouse still cheating Part 1

He might be out there with her right now for all I know. If that's true, I'll be made a fool of!

Does this sound familiar to you? Is this a thought that runs through your mind every time you think about your spouse's affair?
If so, you're facing one of the most common (and overwhelming) worries that people who are injured by affairs cope with as they try to recover and rebuild their relationships.
You want to forgive your spouse and move on with your life, but you're terrified that you might be duped again. The possibility exists that your spouse is lying to you (even now), and you have no idea what to do about it.
How do you know whether or not your spouse is still cheating? How do you know you can trust him or her again when you've already been betrayed? How do you know it's safe to move on with your marriage and your life again? These are questions that haunt people who are injured by affairs. Countless people have come into my office tearing out their hair, because they live with these questions day and night.

Reading some of your recent comments on the blog, I know many of you are also tormented by the possibility that your spouse could cheat again.
That prospect is horrifying.
You don't want to be made a fool of or go through the pain and anguish of realizing your spouse is cheating again. So what do you do?
Because this is such huge issue for so many people this will be the first of a two-part series that will help you determine how probable it is that there is another affair going on under your nose.
This week I will be covering things you can do to improve the chances that there won't be another affair.
Next week I will give you some signs that will help you establish how probable it is your spouse will continue being loyal in the future.
This should help you get to a place where you can begin to trust your spouse again, and have some assurance that there won't be another affair in the future.
But before I get to that I want to deal with the whole concept of being "absolutely sure" your spouse isn't cheating. Is it even possible to get that kind of guarantee? Watch for the next article.
